Introduction:
Our client is a globally renowned glass manufacturer. They have laminated lines of glass production. They utilize abrasives for glass outer grinding.
Problem Statement:
The plant spends over 10 lakhs annually on dressing the abrasives for grinding equipment to maintain high-end glass quality.
They are facing challenges in production with improper dressing and part damage after dressing.
Objective:
Optimize the dressing cycle and dressing skip of the abrasive to improve efficiency.
Enhance abrasive utilization to increase savings and productivity.
Solution:
The plant implemented our IIoT platform Neo with essential sensors to monitor their production.
We ran multiple grinding trails for different dressing frequencies and collected data.
Neo monitored all the grinding metrics and the parts' quality in each trial and analyzed the production and quality.
We computed the data from all trails and determined the optimized dressing cycle and dressing skip for their abrasives.
Result:
With Neo’s analytics, the plant reduced its dressing stick consumption by 30-50%.
